A CASED PAIR OF 25-BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING-PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1810, with re-browned twist-iron 10in. octagonal barrels, the top-flat re-engraved 'LONDON', Birmingham proofs, white-metal fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights to the acanthus leaf and border engraved top-tangs, flat, slightly curved bevel edged step-tailed locks signed 'W. KETLAND & CO', re-lined touch-holes, semi rain-proof pans, roller bearings to the frizzen-springs and sliding safes behind the hammers, walnut half-stocks with chequered bag-shaped butts, iron engraved trigger-guard bows, set triggers and worm-tipped mahogany ramrods; TOGETHER WITH a stained pine case, relined for these pistols in green baize and containing a number of period accessories including a powder-flask, scissors ball-mould and a loading rod, together with a later oil-bottle
