circa 1861, with 36in. barrel signed 'I. HOLLIS & SONS, MAKERS TO HER MAJESTY'S WAR DEPARTMENT' (rubbed), block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the slider with platinum line, commercial proofs, borderline engraved lock signed 'J. ASTON, HYTHE', chequered walnut three-quarter stock, the right hand side of butt inlet with a silver circular plaque inscribed 'WON BY SERGT. C.A. ABBOTT, 30TH MIDX. R.V. AT HYTHE APRIL 1861, 300YDS 5 SHOTS, 11 POINTS, 93 COMPETED' further vacant oval escutcheon to underside of butt, iron furniture, three barrel-bands and iron swivels, missing ramrod but retaining its chained nipple protector and its Weapons Collection identity disk
