circa 1800, with cannon-muzzled two-stage Birmingham proved 14in. barrel, moulded band at the intersection, engraved iron top tang with pull-back release (damaged) for the top-mounted triangular section bayonet, flat, slightly curved bevel-edged lock signed 'PIPER' and with scroll engraved accents and a martial trophy to the tail, sliding safe (frozen, missing thumb-piece) behind the probable working replacement hammer, walnut full-stock with exposed muzzle, the grip remodelled to a semi-pistol grip and chequered, iron heel-plate (pitted), square-backed trigger-guard bow and replacement iron ramrod, loss to wood behind and above lock, fore-end cracked, complete with its Weapons Collection identity disk
