A .442 (C/F) FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION OVERCOAT REVOLVER, MODEL 'No2 BRITISH BULLDOG', serial no. 24756,
circa 1880, with ovoid 2 3/8in. barrel, the top flat signed 'W. KAVANAGH' and mounted with a nickel-silver crescent fore-sight, the right side of barrel marked 'DAME ST DUBLIN', border engraved muzzle, scroll engraved breech-end, borderline and scroll engraved top-strap with central sighting groove, the side panels marked 'THE BRITISH' and 'BULLDOG' respectively, borderline and scroll engraved frame marked 'WEBLEY'S No2 .442 CF' together with the 'winged bullet' trademark, plain cylinder with engraved border to the front edge and a central band of scroll engraving, spurred hammer, extra-long chequered walnut semi birds-head grips, scroll- engraved trigger-guard bow and central pull-out ejection rod, minimal traces of finish
