28in. nitro reproved barrels (in 2015) raised matt sight rib engraved 'SUPER MAGNUM EXPLORA' and with finely dished folding leaf sights for 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 yards with silver-inlaid sight lines and gold-inlaid distance designations, bead foresight, sunken rib, tubes engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS 178 NEW BOND ST. LONDON. GUN MAKERS BY APPOINTMENT TO HIS MAJESTY GEORGE V HEX ET IMP' (likely refreshed).', 2 3/4in. chambers, rifled chokes, treble-grip scroll-back action incorporating J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897, use number 1957, locks with engine turned finish, Westley Richards patent toplever engraved 'PATENT ONE TRIGGER', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, hinged floorplate, L.B. Taylor patent selective single trigger, patent no. 26659 of November 17th 19099, use number 32, with triggerplate mounted selector switch with gold-inlaid 'L' and 'R' details, fine bold acanthus scroll engraving, the triggerguard with a setter, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14in. well-figured stock (small crack at hand) including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, fore-end with engraved Deeley & Edge patent release catch and horn finial, weight 7lb. 14oz.

Provenance: The vendor kindly informs us that his research confirms the rifle was completed in 1920 for Manton & Co. with 'one trigger, detachable locks and ejectors'
