A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT SELF-COCKING REVOLVER, MODEL 'TRANTER'S DOUBLE-TRIGGER', no visible serial number,
second model circa 1855, with refinished octagonal 6 1/4in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, traces of scroll engraving at throat, standing notch rear-sight to top-strap, plain cylinder with tramline engraved border to leading edge, solid frame (traces of engraving), inverted 'Y' shaped safe spring, fully chequered saw-handled walnut grip with iron cap, self-cocking trigger unit marked 'W. TRANTER'S PATENT', spurless hammer and solid detachable rammer also signed 'W. TRANTER'S PATENT', complete with a period mahogany case probably original to this revolver, 'W. PRITCHARD' trade label inside lid, the interior lined and compartmented in green baize and complete with a full suite of period accessories including a brass double cavity mould numbered '4889', a cap tin, a tin of lubricating bullets, a further tin of lubricating compound, a nipple key, wad punch, oil bottle and cleaning rod, together with a reproduction correct style powder-flask and turn-screw
