A SCARCE 54-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED KNIFE-PISTOL, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'DEVISME'S PATENT', no visible serial number,
Belgian or French circa 1850, with straight tapering double-edged 9in. blade, both sides with deep central full-length fullers, the 'cross-guard' mounted with plain tapering 4in. barrels mounted along the fullers, one side of the cross-guard forming the hammers, the opposite fixed, concealed single trigger firing the barrels in sequence, moulded ribbed ivory pistol-grip butt (one with loss to back edge and one mainspring at fault), full length iron grip-straps and nickel circular pommel-cap, complete with its moulded green velvet scabbard with brass chape and throat mounts
