LONDON. (THE MONTE CARLO)', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and full choke, treble-grip action with rounded bar and cocking lever return studs,, action face with W.M. Scott and T. Baker patent 'gas check' gas vents, patent no. 617 of 1882, use number 5793, automatic safety, fully engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork, the lockplates and underside with oval vignettes of pigeon in flight, crack at knuckle (point of previous repair), 14 1/4in. figured stock (repaired crack and inset repairs to hand and toe) incorporating J.J. Langley patent stock design "To enable the marksman to retain an upright position when shooting", patent no. 10706 of 28th June 1891, the stock cut away at the heel to form a monte carlo type comb and marked 'LANGLEY'S PATENT NO. 10706 SHOULDER GRIP NO. (illegible)' weight 7lb. 6oz., in a brass-cornered leather case
