R / ENFIELD / 1880 / lock-viewer's mark / I. C. 1', bridge marked 'S . X' and 'D . P', butt with Enfield roundel and 'DP', with blank butt disc, worn and rusted, stock heavily bruised with some deep denting, clearing rod and parts from the rear sight absent
