TWO BETTER INDO-PERSIAN IRON DHALS,
both early to mid 19th century, the first 17 1/4in. diameter, the front with four rosetted domed bosses in a square formation decorated with gold koftgari-work, the remainder chisel-carved and decorated with koftgari panels of flowers, human figures, prowling tigers, other animals and with a carved raised border, rolled edge and embroidered cushion (faded) to reverse, the second probably Mogul, 14 3/4in. diameter, the front with a koftgari decorated border around a central decoration of applied snakes, also with four domed bosses and a recumbent crescent moon below, the reverse retaining one of a pair of velvet rope handles
