A PRUSSIAN MODEL 1811 'BLUCHERSABEL' LIGHT CAVALRY SABRE,
circa 1814, with 32 1/2in. single-edged curved blade fullered on each side, back stamped '412 / 1831', cross-guard with langets and quillion, stamped '412S' and regimentally marked 'R. B. G. 5. 7.', knuckle-bow guard, eared back-strap, ridged black leather grip over cord, together with steel scabbard with two suspension rings, throat with matching regimental mark over an earlier obliterated mark (possibly '3. 1. S. 3. 10.'), top ring mount on scabbard stamped '412S', drag stamped 'S&K' for Schnitzler & Kirchbaum of Solingen, who started making these sabres in 1814
