for 1910, 29in. sleeved nitro reproved barrels, ribs engraved 'BOSS & CO. 13. DOVER STREET. PICCADILLY. LONDON.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke (No.1) and 1/4 choke both (No.2), toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, Boss 1905 improved patent single triggers, rolled-edge triggerguards, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the undersides with 'BOSS & CO. PATENT' in oval cartouches, the triggerplates with 'BOSS PATENT NO. 11278' (No.1 firing mechanism/trigger at fault, fires right barrel only, No.2 gun missing front triggerplate retaining screw and firing mechanism not operating), retaining slight traces of colour-hardening and much renewed finish, 14 1/2in. well-figured stocks, cast on for the left shoulder and including 1 1/8in. leather covered recoil pads, No.1 with crack at hand, No.2 with crack at head, weight 7lb., in their leather case
