A CASED SCARCE .32 (RIMFIRE) BELT REVOLVER BY E.A. PRESCOTT, no visible serial number,
manufactured between 1861-63, of so-called 'Smith & Wesson' type, with iron octagonal 5 3/4in. barrel signed on the left hand side flat 'E.A. PRESCOTT WORCESTER, MASS' over obscured patent dates, raised sighting rib with crescent fore-sight, solid brass frame with moulded rear-sight to top-strap, exposed hammer, spur trigger, smooth flared walnut grips (heel strap bored for lanyard swivel, now absent, hole plugged) and exposed under-barrel cylinder pin
