with 31in. browned twist barrels signed 'JOSEPH LANG & SONS. 22 COCKSPUR STREET, LONDON' and numbered '2', silver fore-sight, border and scroll engraved patent breeches retaining some original faded case-hardened finish and each with pierced platinum plug engraved with a rosette, case-hardened tang profusely engraved with scrollwork and with gold-inlaid number '2', case-hardened border and scroll engraved locks each signed 'JOSEPH LANG & SONS', well figured walnut pistolgrip half-stock (inset knot repair to right side of butt), chequered grip and fore-end, scroll engraved blued iron mounts including butt-plate with gold-inlaid number '2', no provision for a ramrod, and retaining much original finish throughout, London proof marks, in original leather two-tier case lined in red baize and fitted for a pair of guns, with accessories including Hawksley powder-flask embossed with scrollwork, brass-mounted leather shot-flask, and brass-tipped loading rod, the lid with Joseph Lang & Sons trade label, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon.
