circa 1840, with browned 6in. octagonal barrel signed 'EDINBURGH' on the top flat, bead fore-sight, dove tailed notch rear sight, engraved breech and tang, engraved back action lock signed 'THOMSON' and dolphin carved hammer, full stock with finely chequered walnut grip, iron trigger-guard and furniture, captive ramrod with spring steel belt hook to the left side
