A PATTERN 1796 HEAVY CAVALRY OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD, early 1800s, with 33 1/4 in. double-edged steel blade with central fuller, unnamed blade etched floral scrolling with crown on one side and royal cypher over, gilded brass hilt and guard with wire-bound grip, leather scabbard with brass fittings and two suspension loops, heavily worn, blade stained with heavy blinded pitting, etching faint, hilt dirty with most gilding absent, guard loose, grip binding damaged with losses, scabbard worn and crazed, fittings dented, locket snapped at the at the leather hook (which is absent leaving a hole in the leather), chape has detached
