A 12-BORE PINFIRE DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN SIGNED BURNAND, NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE, no visible serial number,
circa 1864, with 30in. damascus twist barrels, the top-rib signed 'BURNAND, PILGRIM ST, NEWCASTLE ON TYNE', border and scroll engraved long top-tang featuring a vignette of a gamebird, border, scroll and gamescene engraved bar action locks signed 'BURNAND' to both bars (traces of colour), en-suite dolphin headed hammers, fully engraved swing under-lever concealing further gamescene engraving to the trigger guard bow, chequered walnut butt-stock, the underside of stock with gold oval monogrammed escutcheon above the initials 'G.J.', iron heel-plate with engraved spur, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with cross-key fastener and iron fore-end tip
