circa 1840, with blued 5 3/4in. barrel, radiused muzzle, the top-flat signed 'RICHARDS, LONDON', Birmingham proofs, bead fore-sight, the barrel held to arbor by two side-screws, open frame with moulded under-strap, unguarded nipples, rounded border and scroll engraved boxlock action with central bar-hammer, chequered walnut grips and moulded iron heel-cap with central trap, guarded trigger, fair amount of original finish remaining
