ARMY & NAVY C.S.L. .410 (SMOOTHBORED) CONVERTED SINGLE-BARRELLED TOPLEVER HAMMER ROOK RIFLE, serial no. 9074, circa 1890-96, 28in. smoothbored nitro reproved barrel (in 1960), converted from .290 Rook, file cut sighting flat, standing notch rear sight with two folding leaf sights marked for '50', '100' and '150' yards and with white metal inlaid sight lines, bead fore-sight, the adjacent flats engraved 'ARMY & NAVY C.S.L. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. 1/4 choke, carved percussion fence, rebounding back-action lock, border and acanthus scroll engraving, blued finish, 14 1/8in. figured pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip cap, splinter fore-end with sculpted horn finial, weight 5lb. 1oz.
