A .577/450 MARTINI-HENRY MARK I/II SERVICE RIFLE SIGNED ENFIELD WITH SOCKET BAYONET, no visible serial number,
dated 1874, 32 1/2in. sighted barrel stamped 'N . S / N. E. P. ' for Native Service Nepal' below left side of rear sight and proof and inspection marks ahead of the receiver, tilting block action, right of receiver marked crown above 'V.R / ENFIELD / 1874' plus lock-viewer mark with offset 'II', full walnut stock, right side of butt with Enfield roundel above 'II' and 'RP / 1906' Rawal Pindi arsenal stamp, many parts with 'WD', Broad Arrow and inspection marks, Trigger-guard with Nepalese script, clearing rod from a Mk IV rifle, with a worn Pattern 1876 socket bayonet with British inspection and ownership marks together with Nepalese scrip on the forte
