circa 1875, with black enamelled 20in. barrel housing, detachable nose-cap (captive ramrod absent), the internal rifled sleeve unscrewing to reveal the larger smoothbored shot-barrel, concealed button trigger cocked via a key (key absent), black enamelled straight air-reservoir with angled walking-stick handle, in its fitted oak casing lined and compartmented in burgundy velvet and with pink parchment W. Field trade label inside lid, the lid outer missing its brass escutcheon and together with its dismountable stirrup-pump
