A VERY FINE 7-BORE DOUBLE-BARRELLED PERCUSSION WILDFOWLING GUN,
mid-19th century, with 42 1/4in. browned twist sighted barrels signed 'ROBERTSON PHILADELPHIA' on the rib towards the breech, case-hardened patent breeches engraved with borderlines and a bouquet on the rib, case-hardened border and scroll engraved tang and locks, the latter each signed 'ROBERTSON', substantial figured walnut half-stock (minor bruising) with chequered grip and fore-end, blued border and scroll engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with large pineapple finial, silver escutcheon, original steel-tipped ramrod, and retaining nearly all its original finish, Birmingham proof marks.
