detailing matches played by the university against county and visiting overseas teams, overall size 17in. x 12in. x 2 1/4in. with gilt lettering to front boards set in an impressed border, oil-paper front and endispiece, some occasional rubbing but holding firm overall and in good condition.

Provenance: detailing matches played by the university against county and visiting overseas teams, of interest are the numbers of first class players who took the field both for, and against the university and amongst these are Leyland, Sutcliffe, Verity, Hutton, Close, Truman all who represented Yorkshire, Weekes and Worrell of the West Indies, Bradman and Ponsford of Australia together with names such as Yardley, Dewes, Doggart, Insole, Bailey and May who played for the university but were destined to represent their country.

Of particular note is a match played against the West Indies in 1950 with Cambridge declaring at 594-4 with Dewes and Sheppard hitting 183 and 227 respectively only for the visitors to reply with an innings of 730-3 which saw Weekes at 304 not out.
