A FINE 4IN. "PERFECT" SALMON REEL,
with ivorine handle, early 'hand and rod' trademark, strapped tension screw to rim of drum and full-length brass foot, the whole retaining much original black leaded finish.

Provenance: The vendor has kindly supplied the following information:

"Hardy 'Silex' Hardy's 'Perfect' these have both been seen by the curator of the Hardy museum at Alnwick. He has dated them at just before or immediately after the 1st World War 1914-1918 (The Great War). These two reels are identical to a 'Silex' and 'Perfect' on permanent display in an illuminated cabinet at the museum."
