26in. nitro reproved chopperlump barrels (converted from 2 1/2in. cartridge and London proofed in 2003) with matt sight rib, open sights and two folding leaf sights marked 100 and 200, ramp-mounted bead fore-sight, the breech end mounted with Zeiss 'Victory' Varipoint 1,1-4x24 T* telescopic sight in engraved and serial numbered quickly-detachable mounts, tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND 98. NEW BOND STREET. LONDON. WINNERS OF ALL THE FIELD TRIALS. LONDON.' (refreshed), treble-grip action with removable striker discs, elongated top strap with automatic safety, gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, action, lockplates and furniture finely engraved with bold scrolling acanthus, the makers name engraved in scrolling banners, retaining virtually full renewed colour-hardening and finish, 15 3/8in. highly-figured replacement pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, engraved and colour-hardened steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap), sling swivels and including 7/8in. leather covered recoil pad, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch, weight 12lb. 2oz., in its brass-cornered oak and leather case with complement of accessories
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this rifle was completed with 26in. barrels in .375 (2 1/2in.) calibre in July 1906 for 'Jenkins'.
