A FINE CASED 50-BORE PERCUSSION TRANSITIONAL REVOLVER, MODEL 'LANGS PATENT', serial no. 13, ref. no. 0429,
circa 1840, with micro-rifled 6in. octagonal blued barrel, the top-flat with signature 'J. BEATTIE 205 REGENT STREET LONDON', dove-tailed fore-sight with small blade, standing notch rear-sight, plain colour-hardened cylinder, the chambers with chamfered gas-seal and numbered '1' to '6', open frame with fully border and scroll engraved panels to the radiused action body, offset central single-action engraved hammer with long spur, fully chequered walnut butt-stock, engraved iron pommel-cap with central cap-box, scroll engraving to the trigger-guard bow, take-down wedge secured with a side-screw, no provision for rammer, the whole retaining virtually all its original finish and appearing unfired, complete with its Small Arms School Corps weapons collection identification disk TOGETHER WITH its mahogany case (lid and hinges missing), compartmented and lined in green baize, retaining a partial cap-tin and a nickel oil bottle.
