A 26-BORE FLINTLOCK SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN FOR A BOY OR LADY, no visible serial number,
circa 1750, with 31in. two-stage barrel retaining traces of original blued finish, the silver fore-sight surrounded by gold-inlaid scrollwork, small bayonet-lug to the left side of the barrel towards the muzzle, the octagonal to round breech-section with gold-inlaid swags, lines, trophy of arms and signature 'DELPIRE A PARIS', and with gilt section at the rear struck with maker's marks, platinum-lined touch-hole, foliate and border engraved tang, rounded border engraved lock signed 'DELPIRE A PARIS' with platinum-lined pan, figured walnut three-quarter stock carved in relief foliage around the barrel-tang and behind the rear ramrod-pipe, comb with leather pad, engraved iron mounts, iron sling mounts, bone tipped ramrod (minor discolouration to mounts).
