29in. nitro reproved chopperlump barrels with raised finely matted rib, the breech end chiselled with acanthus designs and gold-inlaid '1', the tubes engraved 'DAVID MCKAY BROWN. 32 HAMILTON ROAD BOTHWELL SCOTLAND', 2 3/4in. chambers, Teague multi-chokes (with spares, fitted in 2014), treble-grip action, toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, triggers set for the left hand, the action and furniture finely carved in relief with classic Scottish scroll on a finely matted background, retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and finish, 14 3/4in. highly-figured stock, cast on for the left shoulder, weight 5lb. 13oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun left them in September 2013. The consecutive serial number was reserved by the owner of the gun and is as yet unused.
