A .577 SNIDER MK III THREE BAND BREECH-LOADING VOLUNTEER RIFLE BY THE LONDON ARMOURY CO., no visible serial number,
circa 1870, with 36in. London proofed barrel rifled with three grooves, military pattern front and rear sights, the hinged breech with the positive bolt locking Mk III type, stamped with acknowledgements to Sniders Patents, also marked 'LONDON ARMOURY', the lock stamped with the Crown 'V.R.' cypher on the tail and 'LAC / JAS. KERR & CO. / 54 KING / WILLIAM ST.', regulation brass mounted full walnut stock, the right side of the butt stamped with the London Armoury roundel, rear sling swivel missing, incorrect rod, stock cleaned over and varnished
