for 1940, 26in. nitro barrels, finely wave cut rib with replacement small bead fore-sight (original button foresight with the Lot), the tubes engraved 'AUGUSTE FRANCOTTE BREVETE A LIEGE', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke, treble-grip action with side-clips, automatic safety, action and decorative sideplates with fine acanthus scroll and floral engraving, the triggerplate signed 'GRAVEUR L. SMEETS', likely replacement floorplate screw, retaining traces of colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. semi-pistolgrip stock including horn buttplate, weight 5lb. 11oz.
