A 4-BORE SINGLE-BARRELLED UNDER-LEVER HAMMER FOWLING PIECE, serial no 8513,
for 1890, with tapering round 50 3/4in. barrel, the short moulded sighting plane and barrel at breech signed 'G.E. LEWIS 32 & 33 LOWER LOVEDAY (ST) BIRMINGHAM 8545', the 'st' obscured by a period but later fitted folding leaf-sight, borderline engraved receiver with swing under-lever and shallow tear-drop fences, long top-tang, border and scroll engraved curved back-action lock signed 'G.E. LEWIS' (rubbed), chequered walnut semi pistol-grip butt-stock, smooth iron heel-plate and chequered walnut semi beavertail fore-end with cross-key fastener, exposed iron surfaces with powdery corrosion
