A CASED .577 (BOXER) DOUBLE-BARRELLED SIDE-LEVER HAMMER-ACTION HOWDAH PISTOL SIGNED CARR BROS. HUDDERSFIELD, no visible serial number,
circa 1885, with side-by-side rifled 7in. barrels, the flat top-rib signed 'CARR BROS, HUDDERSFIELD' (refreshed), bead fore-sight, shallow notch rear-sight with additional folding leaf, borderline engraved frame with shallow carved fences, side-lever opening to the left, border engraved isolated back-action rebounding locks, chequered walnut pistol grip with iron cap, guarded double triggers and diminutive walnut splinter fore-end with cross-key fastener, in a period oak casing relined and compartmented in red baize for this pistol, reproduction trade-label inside lid and including a later nickel-plated oil-bottle and period cleaning rod with detachable handle together with 5 dummy cartridges
