MORTIMER, MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY, LONDON', bead fore-sight, engraved breech-block (traces of colour), acanthus scroll engraved top tang with standing rear-sight, slightly curved bevel edged lock with stepped tail and signed 'I. MORTIMER, sliding safe behind the hammer, walnut full-stock with chequered bag-shaped grip, blued iron furniture including belt-hook and trigger guard bow and captive iron ramrod, strong traces of period finish
