A RARE 6mm LEE NAVY (6 X 60mm) WINCHESTER-LEE 1895 U.S. NAVY STRAIGHT-PULL BOLT-ACTION SERVICE RIFLE, serial no. 17916,
one of 152 manufactured in 1908, with blued tapering 28in. barrel, blade fore-sight with screw-mounted tunnel protector, elevating ladder rear-sight, squared blued receiver marked 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. USA.' and patent dates to 1895, the nocksform stamped 'U.S.N.' over an anchor and the serial number, all above the inspector's initials 'J.N.J', bolt release to left hand side at rear, cranked bolt handle, walnut full-stock with semi pistol grip and carbine-style iron heel-plate, half-length hand-guard around the rear-sight (hairline crack at rear), attached magazine housing for charger loading, the whole retaining much original lightly faded finish to metal, some light bruising to wood
