A RARE CASED 80-BORE PERCUSSION GEORGE DAW PATENT REVOLVER, serial no. 515,
first model circa 1858, with 4 3/4in. octagonal sighted barrel, the top flat inscribed 'GEORGE H. DAW, 57 THREADNEEDLE ST. LONDON, PATENT NO. 515', fitted with a colour hardened under-lever rammer of compound linkage design, blued open borderline engraved frame marked 'PATENT NO 515', five shot London proved colour hardened cylinder (finish faded) also marked 'PATENT NO. 515', double action mechanism, the contrasting blued hammer lacking the customary flash shield of later models, chequered walnut grip with colour hardened back-strap and domed butt-cap, lanyard ring at heel, the revolver retaining the majority of its original finish and colour and complete in its original green baize lined and partitioned oak case, George Daw trade label inside lid, together with period mould, flask, loading rod, cap tins and oil bottle
