circa 1854, with multi-groove rifled octagonal 7in. barrel signed on the top-flat 'JAMES WEBLEY, ST MARYS SQUARE, BIRMINGHAM', stud on right side near throat for a detachable rammer (absent), hinged barrel mount retained to the arbor via a wedge, borderline and scroll engraved open iron frame, capping cut-out to recoil-shield, blued five-shot cylinder, distinctive 'long-spur' hammer, single action mechanism (slightly at fault), swept chequered walnut grips, the back-strap engraved with 'BY HER MAJESTY'S ROYAL LETTERS PATENT' (rubbed), lanyard ring at heel and small trigger guard, traces of finish, detail rubbed
