dated 1886, with 32 1/2in. sighted barrel stamped with proof and inspection marks, tilting block action, receiver bridge stamped ' K.T / 2020' (Kingwillams Town Arsenal number) plus 'CG' with Broad Arrow Cape Government ownership mark, right side of receiver with crown over 'V . R / B>S>A> & M. Co / 1886', plus lock-viewer's mark, and 'III. / I', with proof and inspection marks over, butt with Birmingham WD roundel above 'III / I' plus 'sold-out-of-service' arrows, complete with clearing rod and sling swivels, many parts marked 'WD' with Broad Arrow and Birmingham inspection marks, some pitting
