A RARE .38 (RIMFIRE) MARLIN VICTOR DERRINGER PISTOL, serial no. 13504,
circa 1875, with iron octagonal stepping to round 2 5/8in. barrel, the top-flat marked 'VICTOR', the right side 'J.M. MARLIN NEW HAVEN CT. PAT APRIL 5 1870', swing sideways for loading barrel with push-button release to underside of the open brass frame (locking spring weak), central hammer, spur trigger and smooth wood birdshead grips with later varnish
Provenance: Only 2000 of these pistols were made between 1870-1881
