circa 1891, 24in. nitro reproved barrels (in 1963), the rib engraved 'S.W. SILVER & CO. 29 OLD BOND ST. W & LEADENHALL ST. E.C. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 choke in both, MacNaughton patent lever-cocking hammerless action, patent no. 2848 of 1879, use number 252, slender fences with a scrolling banner engraved 'S.W. SILVER & CO.', elongated skeletal toplever (heavily repaired around spindle screw), topstrap with crystal cocking inspection window, manual grip safety engraved 'S.W. SILVER'S PATENT SAFETY BOLT', border and acanthus scroll engraving, the action flats double stamped 'THE EDINBURGH' and 'MACNAUGHTON PATENT NO. 252', 14 1/4in. stock including 1 1/2in. wooden extension with buttplate, weight 5lb. 2oz.
