A GOOD WORLD WAR TWO JAPANESE OFFICERS KATANA WITH SMITH-MADE BLADE,
circa 1942, with slightly curved and shortened 25 3/4in. blade, good visible hamon, General Officer type shin-gunto mounts including pierced tsuba, chrysanthemum menuki, ray-skin grip with cotton binding, the blade tang signed on both sides, green painted saya with leather field cover (repaired) and one suspension ring
Other Notes: It is believed that the signature translates to 'Masatsuga, 9th Generation Maker from Hissen Kuni Province. Made in the 2nd Month of the 2006th Year of the Empire (i.e. 1942)
