circa 1900, 36in. nitro reproved barrels (in 2026, partially struck off), engine turned matt rib, engraved 'IMMAN MEFFERT, SUHL.', the tubes silver-inlaid 'R. MULLER - CAPE TOWN. SOLE AGENT FOR SOUTH AFRICA.', the breech ends marked 'FLUSS STAHL. KRUPP. ESSEN.' and with acanthus scroll detailing and feathered bands, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 choke in both, scroll back, stepped treble grip action with sideclips and ornate side bolsters, toplever at fault, carved arcaded fences, cocking-indicator studs, intercepting sears, automatic safety with engraved 'SICHER' detail, bold acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish, 14 1/8in. ornately chequered stock including buttplate, inlaid horn drop points, the fore-end with Deeley and Edge release catch, and horn finial, weight 6lb. 12oz.
