30in. nitro reproved barrels (likely replacement, retaining original lump), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 3/4 choke, scroll-back 'treble wedge fast' action incorporating Greener ejector patent no. 2003 of 1881, use number 2684, carved serpentine fences, hold-open toplever gold-inlaid with a 'J' surmounted by coronet of a Freiherr, automatic side safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright finish, 14 1/2in. semi-pistolgrip stock with horn-inlaid drop-points, cheekpiece, engraved steel heel and toe plates, (toe with split, and filled-in sling-eye hole) weight 7lb.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed in 1896.
