circa 1835, with octagonal 41 1/4in. rifled barrel, dove-tailed brass boat-shaped fore-sight, dove-tailed iron standing notch rear-sight, drum and nipple breech, flat borderline engraved lockplate with scroll engraved detail signed 'JOSEPH GOLCHER', dark stripy-maple full-stock with 'Roman-nose' butt, the wrist inlet with silver crescent moons bracketing a masonic style compass and square, pierced open scroll-work brass patch-box and hinge, the lid scroll engraved, crescent brass heel-plate with radiused heel-spur and long flat toe-plate, finely engraved inlet silver American eagle perched on a branch and clutching a trio of arrows to the cheek-piece, finely engraved standing Native American wielding a tomahawk behind together with a hunting dog 'emerging' from the heel-plate, the majority of the rest of the stock inlet with various silver geometric shapes including tear-drops and hearts, brass scroll-engraved 'baton' device inlet to underside of fore-end, double set triggers, brass ramrod thimbles and brass tipped wood ramrod
