Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed on the 8th August 1883 as a hammerless gun, 30in. barrels, for John G. Horne Esq.

Literature: In his book 'John Dickson & Son - The Round Action Gunmaker' by Donald Dallas, his extensive examination of the Dickson records reveals that just thirteen 'skeletal' examples are known to be listed. Gun serial no 3832 is not among them, so is perhaps one of only 14 made.
