A SCARCE GERMAN WORLD WAR TWO 'R.A.D.' LEADERS HEWER,
circa 1939, with narrow 10in. clip-point 'hewer' style blade, the left side etched 'ARBEIT ADELT', the back edge of the blade with blind narrow fuller, the reverse of blade with makers mark, plated cross-guard with rolled quillions and central 'R.A.D.' device to the front, integral spiral ferrule, two-piece white celluloid grip screwed from the reverse side and carved, plated aluminium 'eagle's head' pommel; COMPLETE WITH its aluminium scabbard with knot and corn sheath engraving (traces only of plating), the main front panel with pebbled background, the reverse plain, and two squared suspension loops
