dated for 1861, with 30 1/2in. round barrel, commercial Birmingham proofs, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, plain flip-open breech-block with spring thumb-catch, plain lock signed 'ISAAC HOLLIS & SONS, MAKER TO HER MAJESTY'S WAR DEPARTMENT', walnut full-stock chequered at the wrist and fore-end, the right hand side of butt inlet with an oval white-metal plaque engraved 'WON BY GEORGE EARNEST HARLEY AT HARROW, 16 JULY 1861 AT 200 & 500 YARDS, 13 POINTS, 5 SHOTS EACH', regulation iron furniture and jag-ended iron clearing rod, finish faded and browned
