probably a 1770 Pattern Royal Artillery Carbine, with 37in. barrel, block fore-sight, moulded band at breech, Tower proofs, borderline engraved lock signed 'TOWER' at the tail and with crown over 'GR' device below pan, swan-necked cock, walnut handrail full-stock with brass furniture, the heel-plate spur engraved with '2', swivel mount to front of trigger guard bow, four ramrod pipes including throat, iron ramrod, the tip of fore-stock cracked and repaired and fitted with a crude replacement nose-band
