one of less than 500 produced between 1903-06, with 26in. octagonal to round tapering blued barrel, the top-flat signed 'REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y. U.S.A.', folding ring fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, London period proofs, colour-hardened small-sized action with rolling breech and central hammer, the rear of action with sculpted factory mount for a folding Lyman-style peep-sight, figured walnut butt-stock with distinctive chequered full pistol-grip, chequered gutta-percha heel-plate with the Remington arms monogram to the centre, moulded gutta-percha grip-cap, guarded chequered trigger, chequered walnut long splinter fore-end with inlet ebony tip, much colour and finish throughout
