A 14-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN SIGNED W. JACKSON, no visible serial number,
circa 1845, with 30in. unsigned Birmingham proved barrels, bead fore-sight, gamebirds engraved to the rib-end at breech, white metal plugs, engraved top-tang, bar-action locks signed 'W. JACKSON' and engraved with borders, scrolls and gamescenes, dipped tails, dolphin headed hammers, walnut half-stock with chequered semi pistol-grip and fore-end, iron furniture (detail rubbed) and brass mounted ramrod
Provenance: This shotgun is almost certainly the work of William Jackson who traded from various addresses in and around Old John Street, Birmingham between 1817-1851
