circa 1886, with blued octagonal slightly tapering 27in. barrel, machine engraved top-flat with dove-tailed fore and rear-sights, iron hammerless receiver with basket-weave engraving and signed on the action shoulders 'PATENT W. COLLATH' and 'FRANKFURT AO', ensuite engraved swing under-lever drawing the barrel forwards and dropping it for loading, single set trigger, walnut butt-stock chequered at the wrist and with raised teardrop cheek-piece, gutta-percha heel-plate, engraved iron furniture and smooth walnut splinter fore-end with hinge at nose-cap
